Mike Roberts has spent the past 22 years working with troubled
youth. Mike along with his wife Lynn were the founders, executive
directors and full time house parents at Rainbow House for
Children, a Therapeutic Group Home for children with severe
behavioral problems and learning difficulties. As the children's
resident director for 15 years, Mike was confronted daily
with children whose anger and frustration at life caused them
to act out in violent ways. It was in this setting that he
developed the proven communication techniques contained in
this video to help raise the self-concept of these children,
which was the root cause for their violent behavior. Not only

Getting kids to pick up after
themselves can be a real chore. Instead of arguing and fighting
about it all the time simply set Up a time out box for “stuff.” When you have
repeatedly asked Your child to pick up after
themselves you simply pick it up and Place it in the time out box. When
they notice it is there you Explain that in order to get it out
of time out they must perform a Chore that you choose. This is a
great way to put the monkey on Their back and maybe get a few
